Review by hotel critic
My recent stay at the Oberoi Rajvilas in Jaipur was noteworthy, not solely for its magnificent architecture, but particularly for its innovative culinary experiences. One of the highlights was a guided morning walk around the hotel's aromatic herb garden with a talented Oberoi chef. This delightful excursion provided a unique insight into the wonderful world of fresh herbs and spices, setting the stage for our breakfast. Breakfast was served at a private table, accentuated by handcrafted delicacies that beautifully reflected the essence of Indian cuisine. While the ambiance was serene, I found the selection somewhat lacking in variety, which was unexpected given the hotel's esteemed reputation. The dining experience continued with a standout dinner, where each dish was meticulously presented, reminiscent of visits to bustling spice markets in Delhi, where vibrant flavors burst from every corner. The staff’s attention to detail added to the overall experience, seamlessly blending local culture with exceptional hospitality. While there were areas for improvement—such as enhancing breakfast variety—the culinary journey through the Oberoi was undoubtedly memorable. I look forward to experiencing more of the property's gastronomic offerings in the future.
